BUSINESS SITUATION 2010

Despite record volumes, sales of the Paper Division's products suffered a double-digit percentage decline. Falling publication paper prices, higher costs and a weakening of the euro combined to produce a negative earnings result. With the entry into operation of the PM7 paper machine, tough, the division is excellently equipped to face the challenges ahead.

With the PM7, the CPH Group's Paper Division is Switzerland's biggest producer of newsprint, with a market share of 19%. As the only manufacturer of the product in the country, it also commands a 35% share of the Swiss magazine paper market. All the division's paper is primarily manufactured using local raw materials: paper recovered through household collections and waste woodchips from sawmill operations.
